Rotarians, we would like to invite you to attend our annual District Conference at Dow Diamond in beautiful Midland, on March 25, 2023. We hope that you’ll consider joining Rotary friends from across our District for fellowship, fun, and food in Midland in the center of our district.
Our conference is a one day event but a very full day. We begin at 8:15 with our annual District Business Meeting and breakfast. After breakfast we will have our first full group session with speaker/children's author Sue Battel. We will then choose between two breakout sessions. You will have your choice of either learning about Rotary Youth Exchange by Jan Lampman our District Youth Exchange Chair or learn about Financial Literacy by High School Teacher, Ryan Walker.
We will break for lunch at 12 noon when we will have our flag presentation and introduction of Youth Exchange Students. There will be the presentation of the Brobst Scholarship, Rotary Heroes bio's will be read and certificates will be presented. Also the winner of the $500 Maternal and Infant Health project will be announced.
Following lunch there will be another full group session by Laura Swanson of Creative Embers speaking on Sex Trafficking. The second breakout sessions will follow and you will have a choice between learning about Interact with Dee Brock talking about how you can start a club in your school or Jameca Patrick Singleton, Director of Children, Families and Education of MiHIA.
We will then have a time to get up and get some exercise by taking a tour of Dow Diamond including behind the scenes areas we usually can't see.
Our chance to remember those Rotarian's who died during the past year will be at 5:15 p.m. with our Yellow Rose Ceremony and candle lighting. Saturday evening's dinner will bring our Keynote Speaker, Nicole Lynn Lewis author of Pregnant Girl and founder of the non profit Generation Hope. You will not want to miss her story of teenage pregnancy, finishing high school and then college and how she helps other young parents do the same.
Don’t delay and make your reservations for the conference and hotel accommodations today!!!
